"Being disciplined in sports is reflected in all aspects of your life", Daniel Pino

This week, in our new space “A community that motivates us”, we spoke with Daniel Pino.

Daniel is a third-cycle law student at the Universidad del Azuay.

In addition to studying full time, he has played a notable role in mountain biking races in various provinces.

Daniel, tell us, what is your most outstanding competition?

I consider it to be the July 2021 edition of the Ruta del Cacao that takes place in Bucay - Matilde Esther, in which I participated with my mother Alexandra Sánchez in the category "mixed couples", in this race we achieved first place, with a time of 2h and 25m.

How do you combine your sports activities with your academic ones?

I study in the morning and train in the afternoons, I try to make the most of my free time to train, especially on vacation.

What are your future challenges in sport?

I would like to continue training and striving to reach international Cross Country competitions and the Olympic Cross Country

What are your academic and professional challenges for the future?

Graduate, earn my degree, and have the tools to serve the people who need it most through my profession. I would also like to start a project that encourages the use of bicycles in the University community.

What message would you give to young athletes who are going to go to college?

If we like something it is possible, it is difficult, but it is possible, personally leaving the sport when entering the University was never an option rather it is an excellent complement. For me, sport is not a hobby, it is a way of life.
