The "Route of the rivers UDA 5.0 K" was presented

The 19 of October was presented to the press the race "Route of the rivers UDA 5.0 K" in the Hall of the University Council of the University of Azuay.

The event is part of the celebrations for the 50 years of the University of Azuay and, as it takes place along the banks of some of Cuenca's rivers, it seeks to promote the maintenance of natural resources.

"We want it to spread to the whole community of students, teachers and workers. We have had a pretty good acceptance, the limit of this first time is from 3.000 participants, "said Franklin Bucheli, coordinator of the sports competition.

The expectation is that the event can be held every year, the last Sunday of October, in tribute to the foundation of the University of Azuay.

"It's a celebration project, of great participation. We want this to be motivated as it has been designed and prepared for everyone to participate with enthusiasm, "concluded the Rector of the University, Francisco Salgado.

The event will take place on November 19 Sunday at 9 in the morning.

The origin of the race will be the Hospital del Río and it will end on the campus of the Universidad del Azuay.
