The inauguration of six master's programs was celebrated

On Tuesday 17 in April, the Postgraduate Department of the Universidad del Azuay inaugurated the six master's programs of the 2018 call that will begin in the coming weeks.

The opening event was held in the Auditorium of the University, and was chaired by Francisco Salgado, Rector of the UDA; Catalina Serrano, Director of the Postgraduate Department; Martha Cobos, Academic Vice-Rector; and Jacinto Guillén, Vice-Rector for Research. It was attended by Deans and Subdecades of different faculties, as well as masters students who will begin their studies.

Before entering the Auditorium, each student received a spherical pencil, a notebook and a folder with documents from the University.

The welcome was in charge of the Rector, who began by asking the audience for a minute of silence as a sign of respect for the delicate situation that the country is experiencing these days.

He later congratulated "each of the members of the Postgraduate Council, especially its Director, for the organization that has been had in this process and for the great reception that the convocation had".

After the intervention of Salgado, the Secretary of the Postgraduate Law Department, Cecilia Maldonado, announced the start dates of each program, as well as the content that was inside the folder that had been delivered to the students at the door. of entry: a welcome letter signed by Catalina Serrano and a document detailing rules and obligations that must be met by master's students.

The event was closed by the Postgraduate Director who addressed a few words to the audience and told the audience that "everything has its time, and today the time has come to plant, the time to build and to make new friends. The planting that begins today will bear great fruit in the morning. "

Then he presented the directors of each of the master's programs for the audience to know: Ximena Abril (Coordinator of the Master of Integral Audit), Juan Carlos Salazar (Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Criminal Law), Fernanda Coello (Director of the Master's Degree in Occupational Health), Gustavo Chacón (Director of the Master's Degree in Environmental Management), Alexandra Bueno (Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Neuropsychology) and Paúl Ordóñez (Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Interior Design).

Two of the programs inaugurated (Neuropsychology and Interior Design) celebrated their first version within the University, and one of these masters, the Neuropsychology, will be the first research master that is offered in the UDA. The estimated duration of each program is approximately 24 months.

In total, 180 students will begin their fourth level studies in the areas of occupational health, interior design, comprehensive audit and financial risk management, environmental management, neuropsychology and criminal law.
