Recognition of the best graduates of the UDA
On April 21, 23 graduates of the University of Azuay degrees corresponding to the September 2019 - October 2020 promotion were awarded.
The protagonists of the event attended a face-to-face ceremony that was broadcast live on the University's Facebook page.
The decoration to our laureates should have been carried out in November of last year, but the health situation postponed it.
This event, organized every year, recognizes the best graduate students for their outstanding academic performance during their university career. In the decoration, the honorees wore a laurel wreath that symbolizes the laurel wreaths that were given to poets, athletes and prominent warriors in Greece and Rome.
The laurel wreath was accompanied by the medals for the best graduate of each school and the “Honorato Vázquez” medal that is awarded to students with an average equal to greater than 45 or outstanding at the end of their university career.
In the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Education Sciences the laureates were: in Clinical Psychology, Sheila Dután; Therapeutic Educational Psychology, Tatiana Pesantez; Organizational Psychology, Doménica Astudillo; Social Communication, Sebastián Carrasco; Initial Education, Sofía Asanza; Tourism, Joseline Barzallo; Basic Education, Belén Jumbo.
In Administration Sciences: Accounting, Salomé Serrano; Economics, Richard Coronel; Business Administration, Paola Valencia; Systems Engineering, Juan Corral; Marketing Engineering, María Torres.
In Science and Technology: Production Engineering, Vanesa Rodríguez; Electrical Engineering, Daniela Mendoza; Food Engineering, Camila Vizcaino; Biology, Vanner Bernaza; Civil Engineering, Carlos García; Mining Engineering, Lesly Piña; Automotive Mechanics Engineering, Jamil Fernández.
In Legal Sciences: Law, Valeria Orellana; International Studies, Pamela Caldera.
In Design, Architecture and Art: Graphic Design, David León; Textile Design, Ariana Saquicilí; Interior Design, María Vintimilla; Theatrical art, Paula Almeida; Object Design, Teresita Marrero; Architecture, Samantha Carrión.
And in Medicine, Hernán Varado.
Sebastián Carrasco, laureate of the School of Social Communication, stressed that the event respected all biosafety protocols:
"We could not say goodbye to the University as we would have liked, these events are a reminder that we needed to say goodbye well, it is a mixture of sensations, nostalgia and at the same time pride to receive such recognition in the midst of a pandemic."
Representing the laureates, Paula Almeida, a graduate of the Theater Arts career, said: “It is curious how we find ourselves here today. University ended a few months ago, but university life ended a year ago "
The event closed with the anthem of the University of Azuay and the exit of the laureates in an orderly manner to avoid the crowding of people.
