On April 27, the book "Quality of Life and Associated Variables: Reflections, Theoretical Conceptions and the Challenges of its Evaluation" was presented, resulting from the research carried out on the project "Quality of life in people with disabilities and associated psychosocial variables".

This project was the winner in the V University Project and Research Contest of the University of Cuenca, and was executed in conjunction with the University of Azuay.

The event was attended by the rectors of both institutions, Francisco Salgado and María Augusta Hermida, as well as the co-authors and researchers of the book: Sandra Lima Castro, Alexandra Bueno, Mónica Aguilar, Marcela Cabrera, Fernanda Cordero, Eva Peña, Daniel Racines, Paul Arias.

The Rector of the UDA began his speech by pointing out that the fundamental principle of the human being is reciprocity, where sharing and helping the community increase knowledge and the development of science and academia.

Likewise, Francisco Salgado called to continue with this collaborative and cooperative work to multiply the results through a collective effort and promoting the quality of life in every modern and democratic society interested in the well-being of its population.

For his part, Antonio Espinoza, Dean of Psychology at the University of Cuenca, gave a brief presentation on the contents described in each chapter in the book.

The Dean said that the work seeks to motivate the reader to learn more about the design or adaptation of psychometric instruments and the promotion of quality of life and well-being in the population.

Sandra Lima, co-author of the book and director of the research project, mentioned that the University of Cuenca is committed to responding to the scientific and human facts of the time and current society in an equitable, supportive and efficient way in the academic strengthening of research and innovation.

Finally, María Augusta Hermida closed the event by focusing on the fact that research is an essential and substantial process for academia.

However, he added, the importance of the research aims to reflect on the problems of our society, at the same time that it is in a constant search to find answers and concrete solutions to them.
