Social Leadership and Volunteering Program: delivery of certificates

On May 07, the University of Azuay and its Academic Vice-Rectorate presented certificates for the Social Leadership and Volunteering Program, an event in harmony with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The event was attended by authorities, teachers, administrative staff and students from our university community.

Volunteering at the University of Azuay is reflected in various programs within our institution, with a central focus on creating spaces for social leadership and community service.

The welcoming remarks were delivered by Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who expressed his satisfaction with this symbolic event and emphasized the importance of recognizing the community as the center of society.

In turn, Genoveva Malo, Academic Vice-Rector, addressed those present, noting that the presentation of these certificates goes beyond academic recognition. They symbolize the participants' active commitment to the values that give meaning to our University and are at the heart of our educational model: a humanistic vision, comprehensive education, and community service.

Afterwards, certificates were presented to all those who, as volunteers, participated in the Social Leadership and Volunteering Program: "Shape Your Being" project.

Finally, Angie Gonzalez gave the floor, representing her colleagues, and expressed a few words of gratitude. She commented that these spaces are extremely enriching, where by stepping out of one's comfort zone, one can provide support to those who need it most.
