They present the work of the 720 Collective

The Colombian professor Luis Tombé dictated the 12 of May the talk called "The work of the Collective 720 of architecture" to the students of the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Art of the University of Azuay.

During the discussion, the works and projects of the 720 Collective, an office of architecture based in Cali, Colombia, were discussed. Luis Tombé presented the students with different projects as an example of what this group does in their professional practice.

"I wanted to let the students know a bit about how we are going to work to arrive at a real project and conclusions that generate real projects," said Tombé.

The group, which has its main office in Cali and offices in Bogotá and Medellin, has been awarded several design and architecture awards such as El Lápiz de Acero and the Architecture Biennial of Colombia, as well as international recognition.

"My goal was for students to understand that when you work with buildings and public projects you have a deeper connotation of that interior-exterior relationship of the buildings," Tombé said, adding:

"I think what you should learn at the academy is to be creative and to learn, in a good way, to think about projects, because when you are outside it is easier to learn all the technical elements of architecture."

Tombé also teaches classes in the Master of Architecture with mention in UDA Architectural Urban Project, which began in March and now goes through the third module (the graduate project lasts a year and a half and is made up of 24 students from of several cities of the country).

"The master's degree deals with the architectural urban project that has a difference with the architectural project alone since it also affects a large environment," explained Carla Hermida, Director of the Master's Program.
