Presentation of the book "Debt or own resources? Business financing decisions"

On January 29, the University of Azuay together with its Publishing House launched the book “Debt or own resources? Business Financing Decisions”, an event that is framed in the fulfillment of the sustainable development objectives, mainly objective 4: Quality Education.

The purpose of the research compiled in this book is to observe the effect of profitability, capital structure, stock prices and cash flow in predicting the financial distress condition in manufacturing companies reported in the database. the Superintendency of Companies, Securities and Insurance of Ecuador, for the indicated time window, both partially and simultaneously. Financial distress is a process in which companies experience financial difficulties that are very closely related to the risk of bankruptcy that occurs in them, which would prevent them from meeting their obligations.

The company will experience these difficulties if its operating cash flow cannot meet short-term obligations, such as paying interest on loans that have come due. The greater the obligations, the greater the risk of difficulties.

The welcome speech was given by Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who pointed out that this book answers a fundamental question in the business sector, such as debts or own resources; highlighting the commitment and teamwork of each of those involved

The presentation of the book was led by Gustavo Flores Sánchez, coordinator of the Epicenter of Innovation and Technology Transfer of the University of Cuenca, professor and researcher of the GIE Business Research Group.

The official launch was carried out by Luis Pinos on behalf of the authors.
