Presentation of Colloquium Magazine No. 74
On May 01, the University of Azuay, together with its publishing house, held the 74th launch of the magazine "Coloquio," an event in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event was attended by authorities, teachers and administrative staff from our university community, authors and contributors to the journal and the general public.
Coloquio is a multidisciplinary publication designed to disseminate reflections and perspectives on various topics of public interest from within our university community, and at the same time, as a space for dialogue with the literature, art, and culture of the country and the world. This edition, entitled “Turns on Ethics and Democracy”, Colloquium proposes a set of contributions that explore these fundamental concepts from different disciplinary and contextual perspectives.
The welcoming remarks were given by Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who expressed his pride in having a community that thrives on art, music and literature, especially highlighting the relevance of the magazine. ColloquiumIn his speech, he addressed the key role of the university in today's world, emphasizing the responsibility to think about the common good and care for the community.
Cristóbal Zapata, director of the magazine presented, addressed the audience to thank the authorities for their support and all those who have made this edition possible. In his remarks, he highlighted the focus of this edition, which addresses the substance of the challenges facing democracy on a global scale, emphasizing the wisdom of community and the importance of reflecting on these issues in a global context.
This meeting featured the participation of our musical group Blue Beats.
