Presentation of Colloquium Magazine No. 73
On December 12, the University of Azuay, together with its Publishing House, held the 73rd presentation of the magazine “Coloquio”; an event in harmony with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event was attended by authorities, teachers and administrative staff from our university community, authors and contributors to the journal and the general public.
Colloquio is a multidisciplinary publication, conceived to disseminate reflections and views on various topics of public interest from within our university community, and at the same time as a space for dialogue with literature, art and culture of the country and the world.
This edition of the Colloquium, “Dreaming of the River City,” is a choral song to Cuenca on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the declaration of the Historic Center of Cuenca as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
The event began with a speech by Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who said that this launch is a cause for celebration and satisfaction, since this edition deals with a fundamental issue such as the care of culture and heritage, fundamental elements of Cuenca.
In turn, Cristóbal Zapata, director of Coloquio, presented the magazine, and in his speech mentioned that this edition builds an interesting and important dialogue with our city and the world through art, history and culture.
For his part, Fernando Cordero, guest of honour of this edition, addressed those present, pointing out that this magazine highlights the identity of Cuenca, its heritage values and the social, cultural and urban impact of this recognition, putting on the table the importance of continuing to manage and contribute from sustainability.
This meeting was accompanied by our institution's musical ensemble.
