"Omens of life in Nosgoth" presentation of the collection of poems by Juan Fernando Bermeo
On November 9, the University of Azuay, together with its publishing house, presented the collection of poems "Presages of life in Nosgoth" by the author Juan Fernando Bermeo, an event that is framed within the fulfillment of the sustainable development objectives, mainly the objective 4: Quality Education.
Omens of Life in Nosgoth is a collection of poems that places its lyrical imagery in a corrupt and dark world inhabited by vampires and men: the violent and impious land of Nosgoth, the place where the events of the “Legacy of Kain” game saga take place. , published by the Crystal Dynamics company since 1996.
The devastation that has consumed Nosgoth seems to have transformed its world into a place where disdain, abuse of power, vampiric acts, caste segregation and other corrosions; They have brought it closer to an image very familiar to us: our own world. The song “Caín” by the Spanish Heavy Metal band “Tierra Santa” acts as a musical cushion for poetry to sentence us as inhabitants of Nosgoth, or at least, of a very similar country.
At the event, Toa Tripaldi, director of the Publishing House, highlighted the work as an example of joint work, combining poetry, art, music and video games. The meeting culminated with a musical performance by Nosgoth Duo, fusing the different forms of artistic expression present in the work.
