Disruptive thinking in higher education

On September 18, the University of Azuay, together with its Academic Vice-Rectorate and the Department of Continuing Education, presented the certificates of the semi-presential course “Disruptive Thinking in University Education: Promoting Innovation and Creativity”, within the Permanent Teacher Updating Program.

The event was attended by authorities and teachers from our university community.

The welcoming remarks were given by Genoveva Malo, academic vice-rector of our University, who addressed the audience by pointing out that these spaces for permanent updating go beyond courses; they are a manifestation of the commitment to continuous learning, to the improvement of teaching practices and to the certainty that, as educators, we must always be challenging the status quo.

He also mentioned that knowledge is to be unlearned and relearned with the best tools and strategies, in order to inspire and guide our students.

At the end of the intervention, the approval certificates were handed out.

Finally, Ximena Vélez, deputy dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Human Sciences, pointed out the importance of human relations and tenderness in education, as this is the only way to reach the hearts of young people and speak of a transformative education.

Undoubtedly, these spaces have fostered enriching discussions and created an environment where learning has been able to flourish and be shared with our students.
