To be at the forefront of the information age

Year after year, communication technology advances, connections are getting faster and faster and all the information we give and obtain is recorded online.

It is common to hear now about the big data and everything related to the analysis of data for political or commercial purposes.

The University of Azuay, in the new master's degree in Information Systems with a major in Business Intelligence, aims to train professionals with the necessary skills to navigate in this era.

For this, it is essential to acquire the tools that allow the analysis of information to transform it into knowledge, to establish patterns of behavior, based on the large amount of data provided by new technologies.

In March the University will inaugurate this fourth-level program that has the objective of investigating this new field of study called data science.

Marcos Orellana, coordinator of the master's degree, indicates that the program adapts to any professional profile and that no prior programming knowledge is required.

The master's degree will have national and international professors, such as Laura Lazarina (doctor in information and data processing), Marcelo Recalde (expert in big data) and José Olivas (Founder of fuzzy logic).

Registration for the master's degree can be done until January 22, 2021, through the University page (https://posgrados.uazuay.edu.ec/programas/posgrados/5774); filling out the form and paying the $ 50 registration fee.

The master's degree lasts a year and a half, and is expected to receive between 30 and 35 people for the start in March 2021.

The graduate will be able to work in companies, organizations, institutions and businesses linked to the productive and social sectors, of any order that involves the processing of data.

As a freelancer, he will offer his qualified consulting, advisory and management services for the design, modeling, extraction and analysis of organization data, as well as knowledge management.
