Oswaldo Moreno Heredia, designer of worlds: book presentation

On May 08, the University of Azuay, together with its publishing house, presented the book "Oswaldo Moreno Heredia: Designer of Worlds," an event in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The event was attended by officials from our institution, officials from the Ecuadorian House of Culture in Azuay, officials from the city's municipality, family and friends of the authors, and the general public.

This work is not only a historical account, but also proposes a novel approach to understanding the figure of the Ecuadorian artist Oswaldo Moreno Heredia, one that compiles critical texts, focuses on family history, and vindicates oral memory: those stories told in the intimacy of after-dinner conversations, which, if not passed down from generation to generation, end up vanishing in the river of time.

The welcoming remarks were delivered by Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who emphasized that this book chronicles the life and work of Oswaldo Moreno. Within its pages, one can relive the history and art of this world designer. He also expressed his gratitude to those who made this launch possible.

Susana Moreno, compiler of the work and director of the Eugenio Moreno Heredia Collection, also presented the book. In her speech, she noted that the book will allow the audience to gain a closer look at the work of this important artist.

Marco Antonio Rodríguez, writer and literary critic, addressed the audience remotely.

Finally, a discussion followed, with Susana Moreno, Cristóbal Zapata, and Carmen Lucía Cordero participating, moderated by Rosalía Vázquez, highlighting the life and work of Ecuadorian artist Oswaldo Moreno.
