Business Observatory with the Chambers of Cuenca

On March 17, researchers from the Business Observatory of the University of Azuay met with representatives of the Chambers of Cuenca to discuss projects carried out and carried out by the Observatory, as well as ways to disseminate information obtained from research.

The event started from the exhibition of projects carried out by the Observatory researchers. Silvia Mejía, Iván Orellana, Juan Carlos Aguirre, Juan Francisco Álvarez and María José González were the researchers in charge of explaining the objectives, methodologies and results of the research projects developed.

Subsequently, a discussion was held where possible projects and information of interest to the Chambers were analyzed. At this point, the Chamber of Industries, Production and Employment (CIPEM) pointed out that the analyzes presented showed relevant information for making business decisions at the local, cantonal and provincial levels.

The Executive Director of CIPEM, Andrés Robalino, stated that he would put the Observatory researchers in contact with Pablo Osorio, representative of the German Society for International Cooperation GIZ - Ecuador, in order to obtain financing for future projects that provide information that can be available to everyone.

On the other hand, the Ecuadorian American Chamber of Commerce declared that the Observatory's investigations provided relevant information related to foreign trade at the local, cantonal and provincial levels.

And the Construction Chamber, through the investigations, was able to glimpse the needs and preferences of housing, public and private spaces that have arisen from the health crisis. As well as important data for future work on urban growth.

The official page of the Business Observatory of the University of Azuay describes that the Observatory was born from the need to work together, since its objective is that the Academy, the business sector and society, can analyze, discuss and find ways to improve both the business administration, such as the policies that are subject to these administrations in Cuenca.

For this reason, it is necessary that these socializations of projects take place between the entities since together they are capable of improving the management of the different organizations that contribute to citizen progress.

This meeting culminated in the determination of the method of dissemination of the information generated by the Business Observatory of the University of Azuay to the partners that make up the Chambers of Cuenca.

Here the different representatives of the Chambers undertook to coordinate meetings, carry out agreements and direct conversations with representatives of the Chambers in order to transmit the information of the Observatory in an efficient manner.
