New number of Universidad Verdad dedicated to tourism and communities

On June 29, the 76th edition of the magazine Universidad Verdad was presented with the theme "Tourism and the role of communities in the conservation of heritage and the environment."

Its pages analyze the problems related to tourism and the role of each of the communities in a world facing an economic, environmental and social crisis due to the pandemic.

Seven authors debate the different strategies from the tourist area that intend to face this new reality.

“This is a special number, first of all, because some studies presented at the Congretur, a congress held at the UDA, have been published; secondly, the launch coincides with the year in which the School of Tourism celebrates its 25th anniversary, ”said Catalina González, director of the magazine.

In the presentation, Natalia Rincón, Coordinator of the School of Tourism, thanked this support to the career "especially in relation to the field of research."

Five of the seven authors of the published articles attended the event: Xavier Lastra (Central University of Ecuador), Silvana Astudillo and Ana Lucía Serrano (University of Cuenca) and the two UDA researchers Natasha Cabrera and Katherine Ortiz (only Valeriano was absent). Piñeira and Martha Padilla).

The School of Tourism celebrates another event this week, "Environmental memory: justice and truth; what man Destroyed, Covid saved ”while Universidad Verdad prepares for the call for articles in the 77th edition.

“It hopes to compile studies on the various uses and applications of narratives in multiple disciplines, from politics to health; We hope to have researchers at a national and international level and thus continue with the quality of our journal ”, concluded Professor González.
