New interuniversity days of Bioethics

On the morning of Thursday 30 in May, the II Bioethics Workshop - Bioethics and Society - was held prior to the International University Congress that will be held on 3, 4 and 5 days in October at the University of Azuay.

In this initiative participate the four universities of the city of Cuenca, the University of Azuay, University of Cuenca, Catholic University of Cuenca and Polytechnic Salesiana University; In the latter, the second meeting was held.

Juan Morales, Coordinator of the event, welcomed and affirmed that when talking about ethics and society we are all involved as professionals and citizens.

The objective of these talks that take place in the different institutions of higher education is to reflect on what we currently live in the country and understand the impact that scientific research has today.

Luis Tobar, Academic Vice-Rector of the Salesian Polytechnic University, presented his paper entitled "Perception of the vulnerable sectors of Cuenca on corruption", in which he developed trust issues in both public and private companies, as well as the competitiveness that should be had for grow more.

Then Professor Vladimir Robles spoke about "Assistive technologies, artificial intelligence and disability: an approach based on bioethics and social responsibility", ensuring that the evolution of technology must seek different approaches that are beneficial for society.

To conclude the event, an invitation was made to all attendees to participate in the III Bioethics Workshop - "Bioethics and Health" - to be held at the Catholic University of Cuenca on June 22.
