National University Sports Championship Cuenca 2025: opening event
On February 15, the University of Azuay participated in the inaugural event of the National University Sports Championship Cuenca 2025, a meeting that brings together 27 universities, polytechnic schools and technological institutes of the country. This event, in addition to promoting sports in higher education, seeks to define the delegations that will represent the country at the Rhine-Ruhr World University Games, Germany 2025.
The event was attended by authorities and athletes from our university community, authorities from the city of Cuenca, authorities and athletes from the different institutions involved and the general public.
The event began with the entry of the various sports delegations followed by the welcoming remarks of Juan Cárdenas, rector of the Salesian Polytechnic University of Ecuador.
In turn, Esteban Loaiza, representative of the Ecuadorian Federation of University Sports FEDUP, addressed those present and inaugurated the sporting event.
Once the interventions were finished, the TEA Universitaria was admitted, followed by the sports promise
The event concluded with remarks from Cristian Zamora, Mayor of Cuenca.
