"Music of the Endless Party," a novel by James Martinez
On September 26, the University of Azuay together with its Publishing House presented the novel “Música de la farra infinita” by poet and writer James Martínez Torres; an event in harmony with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically goal 4: Quality education.
The event was attended by authorities, teachers, administrative staff and students from our university community, family and friends of the author and the general public.
This novel tells the story of Andrés N.'s life experience in a chaotic and festive city, mapped like a map of intensities: Guayaquil between the late 50s and the hectic XNUMXs, "a small city burning under the sun between prehistory and progress."
The welcoming remarks were made by Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who expressed his pleasure at having a great writer and poet in our publications. He invited those present to enjoy this meeting to learn more about this work, which has music as its main theme.
In turn, David Barzallo, a commentator on the work, made a critical approach to the novel, expressing his gratitude for the space and the author's request, noting that without a doubt, music is a vehicle of collective and personal memory and plays a fundamental role in society.
Finally, a dialogue was held between the author James Martínez, Jorge Aguilar and Cristóbal Zapata, who commented on this novel in an interesting and dynamic way for the public.
