Book on the importance of health and quality of life

On December 2, the University of Azuay and its Publishing House organized the launch of the book "Health and Quality of Life" by the author César Hermida, presented by Pedro Martínez, Director of the Postgraduate Program in Medicine and Family Health.

The work is composed of two parts that speak about the dual complementarity between the relationship between man - woman, and body - subjectivity.

The first part emphasizes issues such as health between science and literature, presenting an operational proposal around the concept of health, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

In the second part, topics related to healthy living are discussed, as well as the medical systems of Ecuador and other countries.

The event was held in the Multiple Use Room and began with a few words of welcome from the Rector of the University, Francisco Salgado, who mentioned:

"It is necessary to think of health as a matter of social effort beyond the treatment of the disease, and above all to aspire to be happy with others because we think in the plural."

Then Martínez, presenter of the work, commented: "Primary health care is and above all it must be the proactive model that seeks, from the point of view of the multidisciplinary based on the community, to prioritize promotion, development, and health prevention ”.

Minutes before the end of the event, the author of the work said that “the book encourages building, collectively with the academy and services, a culture of health as a pleasant satisfaction of the biological human needs of the subjective and cultural body of the family and the community, and those social responsibility of the State ”.
