On June 27, the University of Azuay together with its Publishing House presented the book “Guide book for teaching the molding chair” by the author Ruth Galindo; event that is framed within the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically objective 4: Quality Education.
The event was attended by authorities, teachers, administrative staff and students from our university community, friends and family of the author and the general public.
This book is the result of extensive research, experimentation and application of different pattern making methods, which have been subjected to different changes and variations to achieve an efficient result. It is expected that this proposal will contribute to strengthening the learning of students in their first years of study and will be a constant reference in their training in the field of fashion.
The welcome speech was given by Genoveva Malo, academic vice-rector of the University of Azuay, who mentioned that creativity involves modifications to a base pattern and this book demonstrates the scientific rigor of what we see as a final model or design. This work invites the reader to know what is behind the design, to understand the molding of a body, seen from a two-dimensional way.
The presentation of the book was made by Freddy Gálvez, who pointed out that the book presented has a comprehensive approach, the work contains deep knowledge of molding and pattern making, taking a tour of the basic principles of fashion and clothing design.
The launch of the work was carried out by the author, she expressed her gratitude for the published work and pointed out that this guide book represents rigorous work of many years of dedication; a contribution for both teachers and students of design, interested in molding and textiles.
