"The Nine Symphonies of Luis Humberto Salgado", a work by Michael Meissner

On February 13, the University of Azuay and its Publishing House presented the book "The Nine Symphonies of Luis Humberto Salgado" by author Michael Meissner; an event in harmony with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The event was attended by authorities, teachers and administrative staff from our university community, family and friends of the authors and the general public.

The book is an in-depth analysis of the symphonies composed by Luis Humberto Salgado, one of Ecuador's most prominent composers. Through its pages, the author examines the technical, stylistic and cultural characteristics of the nine symphonies, exploring how they reflect Ecuadorian and universal musical identity. 

The event began with the words of Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who highlighted the importance of the book presented, pointing out that it reflects a large part of the author's life and dedication to this analysis. He stressed that the work is on par with the greatest universal composers, which reaffirms its value and significance. 

Marcelo Villacís, commentator of the work, explained that this work is a source of inspiration for future generations, as it motivates them to investigate and delve deeper into the fascinating world of music. He indicated that the author managed to capture and transmit the technical and cultural aspects of music, thus enriching the work with his experience and vision. 

Finally, Michael Meissner, author of the book, addressed the audience, emphasizing the career of Luis Humberto Salgado, and expressed his gratitude to all those who have contributed to making this project a reality, allowing his work to enrich society.
