Launch of the book "La casa del Hornero" by Carlos Jaramillo

The Publishing House of the University of Azuay - together with the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Art - presented the book "La casa del Hornero" by the architect Carlos Jaramillo this October 15 virtually.

The work is a short scientific and literary treatise that tries to understand and understand the nest of the Hornero bird that lives in Mindo, Pichincha province, and that has the shape of a bread oven, with a geometry built with the mathematical secret and the golden relationships of nature.

The Rector of the University of Azuay, Francisco Salgado, congratulated the author of the work and commented that the book "is very short, but so intense that in a few pages it leaves us with a wonderful flavor."

Later, Genoveva Malo, Dean of the Faculty, added that the content of the book “tells us about looking again, admiring and contemplating nature, learning from it and its wisdom; for Design and Architecture, nature has been an inexhaustible source of knowledge, inspiration and imitation since memorial times ”.

Finally, the author pointed out that the purpose of his text was not to describe the physical nests found in nature, but to find what illuminates and dazzles us:

"A dazzling that will mean discovering the specialties that lie hidden behind those delicate appearances, understanding their lessons, with the vain pretense of emulating them in the mundane architecture that humans make."
