"Life as a work of art" by Fabián and Roberto Landívar

On June 13, the University of Azuay together with its Publishing House presented the book "Life as a work of art: the potters of Chordeleg" by the authors Fabián Landívar and Roberto Landívar; event that is framed in the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically the objective 

The event was attended by authorities, teachers, administrative staff and students from our university community, friends and family of the authors. 

The book presented analyzes the evolution of ceramics, its meaning as an art and its impact on the daily life of the potter artists of Chordeleg. This work addresses the evolution and meaning of ceramic art, highlighting the interaction of indigenous techniques and celebrating its cultural and philosophical relevance.

The welcoming words were given by our rector, Francisco Salgado, who mentioned that the book has ceramic craftsmanship as a study element, an important meaning in our context; uniting two generations, father and son, who through their research and knowledge transmit to us the life of the Chordeleg potters. 

The presentation of the work was made by Gabriela Eljuri, a prominent anthropologist and professor at our university, who expressed that this book is wonderful, as it tells the history of ceramics as a symbol of our country's identity and contributes significantly to popular arts. 

The official launch of the book was made by Roberto Landívar, object designer and professor at the University of Azuay, who after his intervention, gave way to his father Fabián Landívar, a teacher with a degree in ceramics and a degree in visual arts, to also be address the audience present.
