The UDA presents tests to observe the development in children

The University of Azuay once again meets the community by delivering a tool created for children not only in the 6 Zone but also in the whole of Ecuador: the UDA 0 screening test to observe the development of children 1 to 6 years .

This material, completely free, is available on the website of the University of Azuay: https://www.uazuay.edu.ec/

The only condition for using this service is that users send opinions, comments, suggestions and recommendations to constantly review and improve.

The test was born before the concern of, on the one hand, working correctly with the children, that is, starting with an evaluation to observe the process of progress in child development, which is very important for the integral future of the human being.

On the other hand, it has been found that -either due to a high number of children in the classrooms, due to ignorance of evaluation instruments and unfortunately due to the irresponsibility of some professionals- the children are not evaluated and therefore the processes are not met of child intervention, which in addition the law obliges, and consequently no developmental alterations are detected.

The test, carried out by six professionals from the University of Azuay who work with children on a daily basis, was repeatedly validated, tested and scientifically calculated. It also has a validation of its applicability with a group of teachers from zone 6 of Ecuador, with which it was confirmed that it is a useful and easily applied instrument.

The test consists of 20 items that fluctuate between 3 and 6 for each age. It is enough that a single item is not 100% fulfilled, so that the child must be referred for a more exhaustive evaluation.

An application instruction is presented with the procedure specification, the respective materials and the evaluation of each one of the variables.
