The UDA participates and encourages the rebirth of tourism

Within the framework of International Tourism Day, on September 21, a framework cooperation agreement was signed between the University of Azuay and the Municipal Foundation of Tourism for Cuenca with the aim of promoting, formulating and developing joint activities and projects.

In this context, a talk was given and a tour of the tourist space of the Cuenca Botanical Garden, in which the students of the UDA School of Tourism and involved actors such as career teachers, managers and representatives of public entities participated.

During the event, special reinforcement was made on issues such as the need to enhance and promote the destination Cuenca and neighboring cantons, knowing the importance of the biosecurity factor when promoting tourism in the midst of a global health crisis.

According to this, Natalia Rincón, Coordinator of the School of Tourism, mentioned: “There is no better way to start classes at the School of Tourism than with International Tourism Day, letting students know that the tourism sector is rising with more force ”.

In turn, he demonstrated his satisfaction with the performance of the students of said school in their personal projects that strongly promote local tourism and said:

“We are very proud to be the pioneer School of Tourism in the south of the country, we are proud of the achievements of those who were our students and made strong contributions to local tourism and the performance of our interns in the tourism sector in the midst of a pandemic. ”.

The School of Tourism has more than 25 years of educational experience at the University of Azuay.

International Tourism Day has a particularly appropriate origin since it coincides with the end of the peak holiday season in the northern hemisphere and the beginning of the peak season in the southern hemisphere, giving tourism more promotional opportunities.
