The UDA participates in the review of the INSITU journal
The Faculty of Science and Technology of the UDA was part of the group of reviewers of the second edition of the IN SITU magazine, of the Electric Corporation of Ecuador (CELEC EP), published in January of this year.
The publication lists the main actions carried out by the corporation in the area of environmental and social management during 2020.
Johanna Ochoa, Coordinator of the School of Environmental Engineering of the University, was part of the team that carried out the technical review
She indicated that the idea of the magazine was to capture the projects and the different activities of the corporation in a document that can be consulted to replicate some of these initiatives.
The team met since June 2020 and in the first instance the articles were reviewed as a pre-selection.
According to Ochoa, one of the topics that most caught his attention was the monitoring of primates in an area crossed by an electrical transmission line, which focuses on how the habitat of the howler monkeys has been fragmented in that area.
The magazine also has topics such as guides for the sustainable management of dumps, preparation of organic compost, assistance to livestock producers and social conflicts in hydroelectric areas, among others.
