The UDA inaugurates the Clara and Francisco de Asís Chapel

On October 4, the Clara and Francisco de Asís Chapel was inaugurated in the facilities of the University of Azuay, which included a Eucharistic celebration.

The event began with the welcome to the assistants to later make the delivery of the Tau and the Crucifix of San Damiano.

The first Eucharist in the new chapel was celebrated on the basis of providing the university community a space where their religious beliefs can be affirmed.

For Margarita Bonilla, missionary belonging to the Interuniversity Pastoral, this represents unconditional support from the University Council towards the religiousness of the community:

“It was very important to know that we will have a new space in which to participate as Pastoral. This is for us the opportunity to give a better service to the university community and to our approximately 25 members in a much more suitable place than an office ”.

In turn, Margarita invited the university community to join the group:

"It is very important for us to invite you to learn about our activities and development, we have a lot to offer in the spiritual realm."

The religious group of the Interuniversity Pastoral has been present at the University of Azuay since its inception, being since then and until today an important component for the university community in human and spiritual formation.

For this reason, the inauguration of the chapel is the result of arduous efforts and dialogues.

Among other activities, the Chapel of Santa Clara and San Francisco de Asís will celebrate a Eucharist every Thursday and, in this same space, from the following weeks they will carry out sacraments of confirmation of the students.

The chapel is located in the upper part of the central campus parking lot and provides its services during the same university hours.
