"The UDA is aware of the crisis we are going through"

On September 21, the University of Azuay welcomed the new students who have decided to be part of our university community.

Despite the complex situation that the country and the world are going through due to the coronavirus pandemic, the UDA opened its doors betting on the joint work of its entire community, of which the new students are an essential part.

The students who join our institution were informed of the improvements in the virtual campus - a key tool in these times of distancing - and of the life program, which seeks to promote the integral well-being of all the members of the University, among other aspects.

One of the speakers welcoming the new students, the head of the MiUDA Department, María Elena Castro, reflected on Campus on the delicate situation of many of the students, new and old, who resumed their studies this September:

The University of Azuay is aware of the social and economic crisis our students are going through.

For this reason, the Financial Administrative Dean, with the authorization of the Rector, offers several financing options so that students can continue with their studies without interruptions.

The problem will not be the payment, since the situation of the students is analyzed in depth so that they can access these facilities according to their reality.

Another important point is the new scholarship application process aimed at first cycle students, in addition to the regular process that has already been opened.

In addition to considering students who entered the second call, this process is aimed at those who - despite having entered the first group of applicants - failed to complete their scholarship applications.

For this cycle, again the students with high economic and social vulnerability will be admitted into the affirmative action policy group of the Senescyt that the University of Azuay promotes year after year for the most needy students.
