The UDA celebrates the anniversary of its Publishing House
On October 27, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Editorial House of the University of Azuay, the event Expo UDA Book 2017 - 2021 was held at the Hernán Malo Library.
The program began with the intervention of the Rector, Francisco Salgado, who openly expressed his pride in the achievements of the honored department, since for him books are the heart of the University.
“Our Publishing House gives us a great example of what we can achieve. Thanks to writing, humanity can transmit messages capable of transporting us in time and space, making us free and giving us the possibility of imagining worlds and thus making them possible ”, said the Rector.
Subsequently, the Director of Communication and Publications, Toa Tripaldi, took the floor. As a first point, the Director explained that in 2017 the Editorial House launched its first 22 books, and in 2018, with 33, it became one of the organizations with the most publications nationwide.
In 2019 he carried out 38 works; in 2020, 30, and so far in 2021, 22. The editorial lines that have been worked on are: Artem, Natura, Literae, Homo and Memories. The authors are people who work within the University as people from other professional fields, of which 184 are men and 156 women.
To conclude, Tripaldi thanked the authors, reviewers, Rector and Vice-Rectors, editorial coordinators and copyeditors, administrative managers of the Publishing House, administrators of platforms for books and digital magazines, graphic designers, printing team, editorial groups and team of communication.
