The UDA contributes to training within territorial management

Land use planning has always been a relevant issue in political matters, but at present its priority is fundamental.

Therefore, the Expert course in Planning and Land Management, organized by the Institute of Studies of Sectional Regime of Ecuador of the University of Azuay (IERSE), responds to the context in which we live.

This is a course aimed at technical personnel, university students, government officials and the general population.

“Planning is not only for the technician, it is for the citizen. We are all part of the public space, that is why we seek to generate territorial awareness through this course, because land use planning is a social construction ”, indicated Omar Delgado, Director of IERSE.

It is organized in four modules. Within the first, the tools of geographic organization systems are covered, such as Google Earth, this is aimed at knowing our territorial context.

The second module is called "Planning and Territorial Ordering", in other words, it is a conceptual framework about the social construction of the territorial system.

As the third module we talk about climate change, within this edge the interaction of the population with the environment is deepened and there is a notable mention about climate change.

The fourth and last module is the applied seminar for planning and land use planning, where students can apply the tools provided during the course in their work spaces.

There are 120 hours of work within this course, that is, 30 hours for each module. These are synthesized in 10 asynchronous hours, 10 synchronous with an assigned tutor and 10 hours of autonomous work.

To make this space a captivating experience, interactive material is used within the virtual campus such as videos, questionnaires and texts in order to provide detailed and concise information.

This space is aimed at all audiences, Engineer Omar Delgado, executive director of IERSE, tells us more about it:

Upon completion of this chair, a certificate called "Expert in Planning and Land Use" will be awarded. This will serve for the management of sustainable projects within the public and private sectors from the geographical axis.
