To the U by bike! 400 memberships delivered by the Municipal GAD of Cuenca
On May 2, at the University of Azuay, the Municipal GAD of Cuenca delivered 400 free access memberships to the public bicycle system to our institution; event that is framed in the fulfillment of the sustainable development objectives, mainly objectives 3: Health and Well-being and 17: Alliances to achieve the objectives.
The event was attended by authorities, teachers and students from our university community, authorities from the municipality of Cuenca, and the general public.
The Municipal GAD of Cuenca through the Municipal Public Company of Mobility, Transit and Transportation of Cuenca, EMOV EP, committed to proposal number 48: Integration of Public Transportation, delivers 300 free memberships for access to the public bicycle system , with the purpose of promoting its use as a means of transportation in the university community.
Andrés López, dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, addressed the public mentioning that this project is extremely relevant to motivate young people, administrative staff, and teachers to use this environmentally friendly means of transportation and thus contribute a grain of sand. to make Cuenca a more sustainable city.
In turn, Mateo Coello, vice director of the Postgraduate Department, commented on the sustainable mobility project of the University of Azuay.
For her part, Raffaella Ansaloni, vice-rector for research, commented that the university will provide relevant data and previous research to contribute to sustainable mobility in our city.
The event ended with the intervention of Alfredo Aguilar, Mobility coordinator of the Gad of Cuenca, who made the symbolic delivery of the 400 memberships for access to public bicycles for our institution.
