On November 11, the University of Azuay - together with its Publishing House and the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Art - carried out the virtual launch of the book "Colombia Travel Guide" from the School of Architecture.

The event was attended by John Arango, Director of the School of Architecture of the National University of Colombia, located in Medellín, who participated as an external academic peer in the development of this work.

For Arango, the text highlights the importance of travel for knowledge in the discipline, as it states that “the most valuable thing in the book has to do with the enormous value that it has for an architect to know other worlds, to know other ways of seeing the same world ”.

During the presentation, Arango commented that viewing architecture works and projects are the main source of knowledge for those who practice this profession, hence the importance that the study trip provides for students and teachers of the School of Architecture of the UDA.

The publication collects the experiences and learnings of the academic trips made to the city of Medellín and Bogotá for five consecutive years, in addition, it gathers the contributions of students and teachers through their drawings, models and photographs taken at the sites visited.

To end the event, Professor Alejandro Vanegas spoke on behalf of the authors of the book:

"If encouragement helps, new possibilities will open to consolidate our inalienable condition of inhabitants, in the meantime it only remains to hope that this handful of experiences will help motivate each inspiration that always helps to learn through the trip."
