The Ethics Group, made up of professors from the different Faculties of the UDA that participate in the Ethics Program of the Universidad del Azuay, have organized a series of dialogues for the month of May 2020 that revolve around ethics and the pandemic.

The first was "Covid-19, the importance of ethics in decision-making by power", which took place this Friday, May 15, with the participation of exhibitors Damiano Scotton and Rafael Ordóñez.

The other topics will be “Ethics and the provision of free legal services in the time of Covid-19: challenges and experiences”, “The challenge of ethics in the new law: pandemic context”, “Ethics in the provision of public services at the time of pandemic ”and“ Ethical analysis of the notarial function in the midst of the health emergency ”.

The objective of the Ethics Program is to make ethics an object of study, explains Professor Juan Morales:

“We had a very important congress in the making in October - the International Congress of Ethics, University and Society - that will not take place due to the pandemic; the idea was to talk about ethics and society, ethics and law, ethics and environment; These talks now are generated as a possibility that allows us to continue with the great efforts made throughout the last year. "

"In the pandemic we have maintained the idea of continuing to investigate, we are going to publish a series of documents and articles, despite the fact that we cannot have Congress as we had planned," Morales concluded.

The University of Azuay with "Ethics, University of Azuay Program" contributes significantly to the positioning of moral reflection in national and international society. It will contribute to the fulfillment of the great institutional objectives, which have ethics as the foundation. All the projects of this Program have a direct impact on society. One of the main contributions will be the treatment of ethics as an object of study, research and analysis.
