Knowledge and Culture Days: eighth edition

Seven lectures and two art presentations were held on Tuesday 26 in June, from nine in the morning to eight and a half in the evening, in the eighth edition of the "Knowledge and Culture Days" organized by the Faculty of Science and Technology.

In the Science and Technology Auditorium, the morning started with the presentation "Logistics of services" by the consultant Uriel Capelli, an industrial engineer graduated from the University of Buenos Aires with a Master in Operations Management from the Austral University.

The day continued with the talk given by Luis Peña, a mining professional, called "Construction of a mine".

"Tell me how you move and I'll tell you what city you are from" was another of the papers, dictated by the research professor at the University of Cuenca Daniel Orellana.

Cecilia Valdivieso, Director of the Ecuadorian Standardization Service (INEN), a public body in charge of standardization, validation, certification, regulation and metrology of Ecuador, gave a keynote address entitled: "My first quality certificate".

The eighth edition of the Knowledge and Culture Days counted this time with special guests belonging to the University of Pittsburgh, Marcela Gómez and Pedro Bustamante, who spoke about the electromagnetic spectrum and the new technologies that are currently being developed, such as communications mobile in 5g and the study on millimeter waves. The paper was called: "Present and electromagnetic future".

Carlos Cordero, former Rector of the Universidad del Azuay, also gave a lecture entitled "The development of electronic currencies and technology. Bitcoin case ".

After the same, the School of Theater Arts of the University of Azuay made two artistic works: "Duetto buffo di due gatti" by Gabriela Méndez and Belén Campoverde, and "The truth of the truth" by Mateo Salazar, Walter Lliguisaca and Franklin Zumba

To end the day, Andrés Baquero, professor of research at the University of Azuay, gave the lecture "History of quantum physics and its application in modern science"

Luis Miguel Serrano, student of the degree in Electronic Engineering, considers that the initiative to bring professionals who talk about their experiences in the workplace helps students to guide them in a better way within the professional part.
