Riders of the decomunication will take the streets of Cuenca
This November 26 EXPO COMPARSAS was inaugurated by the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Art of the University of Azuay.
The objective of the presentation was to give a scale sample of the puppets, masks and costumes that will be used in the 6 troupes of January in Cuenca.
The presentation was in charge of Genoveva Malo, Dean of the Faculty of Design; his speech continued with the words of several teachers who were also participants in the process of creating the show.
“The work of professors Diego Balarezo, José San Martín, Carlos Pesántez, Belén Paz y Miño, Claudia Polo, Pablo Ochoa and Fabián Cordero, with the students of the Object Design, Graphic Design, Textile Design and Fashion and Architecture careers , also focused on scheduling the times, costs and the systematization of the work, to optimize resources, time and efforts in the assembly of the work ”, said the Dean.
Several hours of thought, reflection and creativity led to a large number of designs that were part of the preamble of the real representations that will parade in the well-known comparsas cuencanas.
"It is already a tradition for the UDA to be a participant in the Cuenca processions held every year," said Genoveva Malo, who added that this year the work was conceived differently and several weeks in advance.
The "Four horsemen of the descomunicación" that will carry out the comparsa of the UDA are represented by the four main social networks: Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter.
"The reflection on how they affect our lives, sometimes absorbed by them, under issues such as false happiness, oppression and misinformation is addressed. It also seeks to include in them the local jargon that is used in these media, as well as terms taken from the book of the book of Cuencans idioms by Dr. Oswaldo Encalada that show several variations, to be adopted in the proposal ", concluded the Dean.
200 students are those who are part of the whole project and hope to create a unique and different presentation this beginning of the 2018, where through humor and creativity you can create awareness about the use of social networks.
Finally, the presentation ended with an invitation from Genoveva Malo where the 6 of January encouraged the XNUMX to be part of the event as a single community, all of which are part of the UDA.
