IV Design, Architecture and Art Research Symposium

The IV Research Symposium of the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Art, at the José Cordero Acosta Auditorium of the University of Azuay, was held as part of the 21 year celebration of the Faculty between the 22 and 35 in March. and the 10 years of life of the School of Architecture.

The event, which featured the exhibition of nine research projects and 13 doctoral theses, aimed to make visible the work of the researchers of the Faculty, motivate new teachers and students to investigate and investigate topics of interest to them. .

"This space is very important for the Faculty, because this is where our researchers can show what they have been doing during this last time and, also, this event serves to motivate our students, who could become future researchers", mentioned Carla Hermida, research professor at the Faculty.

In addition, in this edition, the modality of the academic poster was implemented with the aim that the teachers are prepared to present their research work in both national and international congresses.

In her words of welcome, the Dean Genoveva Malo pointed out that both the papers and the posters deal with issues related to the findings, questions and discoveries that are tracing Architecture, Art and Design in relation to the context, technology , crafts, sociology and anthropology, among others.

This year's speakers were only teachers from the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Art, unlike last year's research symposium in which doctoral students from Mexico participated. However, Carla Hermida said that it has been decided that the symposium will be expanded again next year.

Among the exponents were the participation of Toa Tripaldi, Anna Tripaldi, Genoveva Malo, Silvia Zeas, Maria del Carmen Trelles, Manuel Villalta, Diego Larriva, Santiago Vanegas and Manuela Cordero, among others.

This space was directed exclusively to the students of the last cycles that have begun to realize their thesis of degree, because the topics that have been treated in this event can serve as guides to carry out their research.
