Automotive Engineering analyzes vehicle safety

Within the framework of the Knowledge and Culture Conference of the Faculty of Science and Technology, the conference "Vehicle Safety" organized by the School of Automotive Engineering took place on June 24.

The talk was given by Daniel González, a native of Mexico, who spoke about the safety tests that are carried out at the plant of the automotive company General Motors in Toluca.

"The exhibitor worked there for several years, especially in the area of evaluation of the head injury criterion (HIC - Head Injury Criterion) in different impact tests and vehicle rollovers", explained Robert Roockwood, Coordinator of the School, and added :

"We went to this exhibitor since he worked for many years in this security engineering center that is unique in Latin America."

The results of the safety tests allow the selection of materials and the design of various components of the cabin, to make vehicles increasingly safe.
