Opening of the IV International Congress on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
On October 23, the University of Azuay and its Faculty of Science and Technology inaugurated the IV International Congress on Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency 2024; an event that is part of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event was attended by authorities, teachers and students from our university community, authorities from CELEC Sur and FONAPA, guest speakers and the general public.
The objective of this congress is to bring together national and international experts to share knowledge and advances in renewable energy and energy efficiency, promoting the exchange of ideas and experiences that drive the transition towards a more sustainable future in Ecuador and the world.
The welcoming remarks were made by Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who congratulated all those who have been part of the organization of this important event. He also pointed out that it is essential to address different issues of the contemporary world in order to change lifestyle and consumption habits, emphasizing the importance of caring for natural resources.
For his part, Andrés López, dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, addressed the audience, mentioning the importance of seeking solutions to the challenges we face, where it is essential to seek and propose sustainable and safe solutions for the environment.
Once the opening ceremony was over, the conference was opened by experts in renewable energy and energy efficiency, who will address different topics and perspectives over the course of these 3 days of the congress.
