Inauguration of Science and Technology offices and laboratories

The Faculty of Science and Technology celebrated the inauguration of its new administrative offices, soil laboratory and electronics laboratories.

The event was held on March 23 in the parking lot of the Faculty and was attended by managers, teachers, administrative staff and students.

"The University should be a worthy environment for students and teachers, so the work done is for the university community," said Francisco Salgado, Rector of the University of Azuay.

Andrés López, Dean of the Faculty, mentioned that the most important modifications have occurred in the following spaces: administrative offices, which improved the access and reception of students and researchers as well as the comfort for the administrative staff; soil laboratory, which now has a hydraulic press of 100 tons; and two electronics laboratories where the physical structure was remodeled to provide a safe space for teachers and students.

In addition, the Dean congratulated the infrastructure committee and the planning department of the university, for the management provided for the renovations, as well as the academic boards, administrative staff and teachers for the support in the project.

His speech concluded with the invitation to those present to review the accountability of the year 2017 where are specified the highlights made by the Faculty of Science and Technology in the field of teaching, security, infrastructure and equipment acquisition, research and linkage, promotion of careers, among others.

After the interventions, the Rector and the authorities of the Faculty cut a ribbon as a symbolic act to inaugurate the renovations.

Pedro Crespo, Subdecano of the Faculty, mentioned that previously in the offices there was a little inconvenience for the students when approaching to make consultations, even for the teachers, reason why the remodeling will provide agility in academic processes. 

Finally, those present enjoyed a rock concert which concluded the evening.
