History of Art, a book by Jaime Garrido

History of Art, a book by Jaime Garrido

On October 17, the University of Azuay and its Publishing House presented the book: “Historia del Arte, Cuaderno Docente” by the author Jaime Garrido; an event in harmony with the principle of care that inspires our University and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The event was attended by authorities, teachers, administrative staff and students from our university community, family and friends of the author and the general public.

This teaching notebook is an indispensable tool for teachers of the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Art of our institution; in it, they will find a practical and complete guide for teaching the History of Art. With a clear and concise structure, this resource will provide you with the necessary tools to design dynamic and meaningful classes that connect your students with the rich history of art and its impact on society.

The event began with the words of Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who highlighted the importance of the figure of the author within the University, since art and theatre contribute significantly to learning.

The book was presented by Manuela Cordero, a teacher and researcher at our institution, who expressed her satisfaction with the book presented and noted that it is a testimony of her commitment and love for art in all its complex forms.

The official launch of the work was carried out by the author himself, who is a teacher, artist and researcher at the University. At the launch he mentioned that the History of Art and its link with design are fundamental to understanding the influence of culture and art in society and how these aspects are reflected in contemporary design.
