Training in ICT, Education and Statistics

The Department of Linking of the University of Azuay conducted the training course "ICTs applied to education and statistics" aimed at teachers in Zone 6 of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ecuador (MEC).

The course began in November 2020 and ended in February 2021, after having completed twelve weeks of training aimed at teachers from different areas of knowledge from various educational institutions.

During these weeks, topics such as: Moodle virtual learning environment, Web 2.0 educational tools, basic concepts of descriptive statistics and use of Tics (Excel and Casio calculator) for researchers were addressed.

"Currently, due to the pandemic that humanity is going through, lifestyles have seen the need to change and adapt to the demands of the moment and the educational system is no exception as it has had to adapt to current circumstances. , promoting reflection on how to understand coexistence, the environment and knowledge ", explained the teacher Juan Barrazueta, in charge of the course.

A total of 39 of the 45 enrolled successfully completed the course and received their certificate virtually during the closing program held on Sunday, April 25, which was attended by a representative of the MEC, as well as the Department of Engagement. with the Society and the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Educational Sciences of our University.

Several interventions were made by the authorities and one of the participants during the course intervened on behalf of his colleagues, expressing his gratitude to all who made this training course possible.

To finalize the program, those present were informed that they will work on the development of new linking projects in order to respond to the needs of other areas of knowledge such as techniques, since the requirements are constant due to the changes that have forced the pandemic.
