Signing of Agreement between the University of Azuay and the GAD of Azogues
On June 25, the signing of the Specific Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement between the University of Azuay and the Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Azogues canton took place.
Its objective is to commit to establishing a joint program to provide scholarships to young people in rural areas, in order to promote access to higher education and promote community development.
The event was attended by authorities, teachers and administrative staff from our university community, authorities from the GAD of Azogues and beneficiaries of the program.
The welcoming words were given by our rector, Francisco Salgado, who mentioned that the University opens its doors so that more children have the opportunity to access third-level studies, with the possibility of building the common good together.
Likewise, Javier Serrano, mayor of Azogues, addressed the public, pointing out that it is a moment of joy for his canton, expressing that education will always be the best tool to build a better and fairer future for everyone.
At the end of the interventions, the agreement was signed.
