The welcoming remarks were given by Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who mentioned the importance of caring for the lives of those who care for us; this project undoubtedly looks after the well-being of rural communities by providing them with decent housing so they can transform their lives.

In turn, Santiago Arias, general manager of EMUVI EP, addressed those present expressing his gratitude for the space provided and emphasizing that this project is the result of a joint effort in which academia and the municipality have contributed to carry out a housing model for rural areas of Cuenca.

For her part, María Gabriela Barsallo, manager of the El Barranco Foundation, said that this project has a great impact on rural areas and that through it, people can make a significant contribution to their lives. She hopes that this project will be replicated nationally and internationally.
