Signing of Agreement between the Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Azogues Canton and the University of Azuay
On December 6, the signing of the Interinstitutional Cooperation agreement was carried out between the Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Azogues Canton and the University of Azuay, for the generation of the land coverage and use map and spatial analysis of the Ministry's social registry. of Economic and Social Inclusion for the Municipal GAD of Azogues.
The event is framed within the fulfillment of the sustainable development objectives, specifically objective 17: Alliances to achieve the objectives.
The purpose of this agreement is to prepare the map of vegetation cover and land use of the Azogues canton (excluding the area occupied by the Sangay National Park) at a scale of 1:10.000 based on satellite images from the years 2022 and 2023, according to the cantonal limit delivered by the Municipal GAD; and generate the Spatial Analysis of the Social Registry of the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion for the Municipal GAD of Azogues.
At this meeting, our rector, Francisco Salgado, pointed out that sustainability is a key issue for a new way of living and that within this framework of inter-institutional cooperation it is extremely important to carry out joint work, taking advantage of the information we have in order to make the best decisions. decisions regarding what is proposed.
