Faculty of Administration Sciences celebrates its anniversary

On December 10, the University of Azuay celebrated the 51 years of the founding of the Faculty of Administration Sciences through a Solemn Commemorative Session.

The Solemn Session began with the presentation of a video that gave an account of the academic activities carried out by the Faculty in recent years.

The event, which took place in the Multiple Use Room of the Central Campus, stood out as an emotional ceremony, where the recognition of retired professor Julio César Jaramillo stood out.

Jaramillo provided his services to the University of Azuay and its Faculty of Administration Sciences as a teacher. Among his recognitions, he highlighted his valuable contribution in the chair, the training of professionals with academic excellence, the contribution to the development of society, as well as having dedicated the best years of his life to embody ideals in this study center.

In the company of his family, Jaramillo received in the session an agreement from the Faculty Council and a memorial plaque from the Faculty Professors Association. Later, he addressed a speech to those present:

“In a small classroom in the building of the Faculty of Administration Sciences I gave my first class at the University of Azuay, that classroom was exactly this; the now called Multipurpose Room, -although it was smaller then. It is curious that this same place, where I gave my first class, is the place where I say goodbye to my beloved UDA¨ he mentioned.

Once said recognition was delivered, the Academic Board of the Marketing School and the Organizational Committee were recognized for the successful completion of the 2nd International Marketing Congress, which took place in November 2021 at the University of Azuay. The recognition was received by Marco Ríos, Coordinator of the School of Marketing.

Francisco Salgado, Rector of the University of Azuay, and Oswaldo Merchán, Dean of the Faculty, also addressed those present, emphasizing the pride of being one of the first Faculties of Administration Sciences in the country and the first in the city. .

Both authorities extended their gratitude and congratulations to the retired professor who was honored.
