Faculty of Science and Technology commemorates 40 years
On December 9, in the General Auditorium of the University of Azuay, the Faculty of Science and Technology and its Association of Professors held the Solemn Commemorative Session for its first 40 years.
The main university authorities attended the session, as well as the dignities of the Faculty.
Francisco Salgado, Rector of the University of Azuay, addressed the welcoming remarks: “This story is written by hand with thousands of life stories of teachers, students and administrators who forged it day by day. Narratives of young and old, stories of struggle and achievement, happy and tender pages, sad and difficult moments ”.
The Rector added that "a Faculty is much more than the sum of these adventures, it is the hope of a better future for the society to which it is due."
In the same way, Andrés López, Dean of the Faculty, stressed that it is a young Faculty, "but that with this time of travel it has reached sufficient maturity to face any challenge that arises in today's world."
"We have always responded to the development of the country and to improve the quality of life in our environment," concluded the Dean.
During the session, a video book was projected with commemorative photographs that testified to the 40 years of life of the Faculty of Science and Technology.
During the development, a plaque was officially awarded to the forgers of the UDA, recognizing their permanent and unconditional support for academic, scientific and technological development.
In this context, the Rector of the University was part of the honorees, recognizing their support for the Faculty, as well as former deans and sub-deans, who promoted the comprehensive training of their students, the professional growth of teachers and administrative staff, and contributed significantly academic, scientific and service development for society.
Subsequently, the schools of the Faculty were recognized for their invaluable contribution to the training of professionals of the highest academic, technical and human level, as well as their contribution to the development of science and knowledge for the benefit of our society.
Finally, the Association of Students of the Faculty, in the person of Renato Mera, was recognized for his permanent work in favor of the continuous improvement of academic processes and a harmonious coexistence in the university community based on ethics, respect and humanism.
The event culminated in the agora of the pool of the Central Campus of the University of Azuay along with a wine of honor and toast.
