Events in the UDA for the World Water Day

The 22 of March, the University of Azuay - in coordination with CELEC EP (Electricity Corporation of Ecuador) - held a fair and a symposium on the occasion of World Water Day, with the support and participation of various educational and corporate institutions.

FONAPA, MAE, SENAGUA, STAGE and the Water Board were some of these institutions that participated in the different activities in order to raise awareness of water consumption and the importance of wastewater treatment in the region.

The symposium was called "Nature for water" because, as explained by Pablo Guzmán, one of the speakers, "this year's title puts water at the center of care".

The inauguration of the event was held in the Auditorium of the UDA by the Rector, Francisco Salgado, and Humberto Cordero Ortiz, Manager of CELEC HIDROPAUTE, who emphasized that the citizens of the world must learn to "denounce and build" , explaining that we must be brave to denounce what threatens our rights in order to build a different world with a "thought of defending water".

Meanwhile, in the Faculty of Science and Technology, the "Fair for Water" was held, with an interactive environment that favored the interaction of the exhibitors with college and university students.

This interaction "increased the degree of interest in the issue of water care for children," said Fabián Cuadrado, Inspector General of the Daniel Córdova Toral Technical College.

One of the most popular projects was a study by the School of Biology that is based on testing the water quality of a region according to the species that inhabit it.
