On June 1, the children of the Pediatrics area of ​​the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital received gifts, sweets and moments of fun thanks to the staff of that unit with the collaboration of the nursing area, Municipal Social Action and students of the University of Azuay

This was the celebration for Children's Day, a date dedicated to fraternity and understanding childhood in the world, their needs and rights.

The objective of the celebration, in addition to entertainment, was to remember the need to comply with the rights of infants and the promotion of a better quality of life for the little ones, these being the main ones affected by the pandemic in terms of recreation.

During the event, special emphasis was placed on the violated rights of children in the current health situation, among which we find the right to play, leisure, leisure and recreational activities, affecting the emotional part of children in times of confinement. .

"Boys and girls now need internet access to participate in their classes and many of them do not have this service, thus being infants deprived of their right to study," said Gabriela Álvarez, a postgraduate doctor in the area. of Pediatrics of the University of Azuay and participant in the organization of the event.

During the reception, the medical staff of the hospital dressed up as the children's favorite characters: princesses, superheroes and animals, while the children painted their faces with characters and colors, ate sweets, danced, sang and enjoyed a day in which innocence is the architect of the best moments.
