Students of the UDA participated in the International Model of the United Nations in Canada

From the 8 to the 11 of March, a delegation of eight students from the School of International Studies of the University of Azuay represented the Institution in the Canadian International Model United Nations, in the city of Ottawa, Canada.

The United Nations Models, also known as MNU or MUN (for its acronym in English, Model United Nations), are a simulation of the system of the United Nations (UN), which involves students at secondary and university level .

Through different techniques of debate and negotiation, the students represent member countries in the various organs of the UN system.

The delegation was formed by the students Geovanna Suárez, Camila Molina and Paula Olivella, who represented South Korea; Nicole Cabrera, Evelyn Chiriboga and Isabel Lupi, representing Mali; and Daniela Soria and Piedad Silva who acted on behalf of Saudi Arabia.

The team was accompanied by the teacher, Matías Abad Merchán, as faculty advisor (academic advisor).

Upon his arrival, the UDA team was received by the Ecuadorian ambassador, Diego Stacey Moreno, at the Embassy of Ecuador in Canada, with the purpose of discussing possible academic and professional opportunities for the students of our University.
